Crazy Little Thing Called Love Solo

This is a great solo by one of Rocks greatest players; Brian May. I recorded this recently and will redo some parts in the future. Hopefully it will end up with a vocal track. Everything is live except the bass drum and one hand clap track. Two additional 'real' hand clap tracks were added. (They were the most difficult...just kidding-though I did mess up the timing once or twice.) The snare is an old steel Yamaha resting on a glass table. The new Remo Ambassador head sounds great but probably needs to be tighter. Still, I thought it worked okay.

This is an instrumental version of one of Freddie Mercury's most special songs recorded on my custom homemade guitar. 

Eternal Father

 This is a beautiful hymn. It was composed in 1860. See Psalm 107. The idea is to add vocals at some stage.

Secure In Him

 A song by Hazell and Bowen. Sung by one of the most talented musicians I have ever known. We miss his music but mostly we miss his gentle and kind spirit.

 This was a beautiful song composed by GR Hazell.

 This was composed by GR Hazell. It was one of our louder numbers!

 This was a number that speaks of God's goodness.

 The was recorded at the Rumbelow Theater Durban 2004. Had some energy!

 

A Place In The Sun

I composed this number around 2002. Drum loops from the first Level 42 drummer help give this recording a distinctive sound from an earlier era... but one that a rather enjoy. I hope you like this too.

Never No Lament (Duke Ellington 1940) August 22, 2020

This is a special number that I recorded yesterday for my late father. He loved the music of Duke Ellington. I'm sure he would have approved of my version.

Most High and Glorious God

This is a beautiful song composed and sung by a very special friend who is no longer with us. Wade was joined by Tiffany who graciously added her angelic voice. This was recorded back in 1987. 

Reason Song

This is a number I wrote many years ago and a very special young lady (family member) asked if I could share it. I thought I would share it with family and friends in general because the song is a song of hope that could encourage others who hear it. It followed a very difficult period for me and I think the over-all sound and of cause the lyric of the track reflects the emotions I was going through. I was hoping to find a beautiful picture of a rainbow that I took but couldn't find it. The white guitar which Arthur Larkan and I built was not used on the track. (Instead, I used a Fender Stratocaster.)

Song For Mom

This is a song I have just composed and recorded for mom who passed away 20 years ago. I'm not sure why it has taken so long. (I used the newly purchased ukulele and the white guitar for the solo.) Hopefully my daughter will learn to play the ukulele. (That's the idea.)
