This is a number called Solitude. It will have English and or Portuguese lyrics shortly. It also has a chorus which isn't recorded in this version but I like the general idea of the arrangement.

 

Here is a picture showing the NS Design  EUB (Electric Upright Bass) on the percussion stand. The bass can rotate very easily - so that it is out of the way when I play the guitar. Thanks again to Arthur for making this possible. (Arthur Larkan also helped me enormously with the white guitar - in fact I couldn't have built it without him!)

Nossa Vida - Just recorded.

This is a number that I had started composing about 5 years ago and never completed until yesterday.  I thought I would add some pictures of the white guitar although I didn't use it on the recording.



MasQueNada Bamboleo Medley

This is a recording of two great numbers. Keith (my father-in-law) and I perform as Nossa Vida every Friday night at Manuka Restaurant - Steenberg, Cape Town. The white guitar was made by myself and Arthur Larkan - It is based on a similar looking Gibson guitar but differs in many respects. The latest addition

The percussion set-up continues to grow. The NS Design EUB has a custom movable attached stand.

 

The bass moves backwards and forwards easily allowing me to change to guitar or percussion within a few seconds.

 

 

Nossa Vida means 'Our Life' in Portuguese.

 

 

The white guitar is getting used weekly at our Manuka gig and sounds awesome. I'll soon be adding the TC electronic chorus and reverb pedals to enhance the already great sound of the guitar. Here is a pic of my percussion setup that I also use during the gig. I'll soon be adding the Boss RC-30 Loop Station and the Behringer B205D for personal monitoring. It will be a fantastic setup when it's all running.
